NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL (NSC)
DDC-4 10th Edition 

GOAL: Create self-awareness around the challenges associated with driving in today’s society. The course provides participants with tools, tips, and techniques that offer positive choices in regard to driving decisions and motivates them to embrace personal change in their driving behaviors and attitudes. The course is designed to address three driving related factors from a safety-conscious perspective: the driver, the conditions, and the vehicle. The course provides drivers with the knowledge and safe driving techniques to prevent collisions and violations. This course challenges the participants to choose responsible behaviors.

CONSUMER BASE:
Participants attend DDC-4 programs for a variety of reasons. The course should address the needs of all participants without patronizing or demeaning anyone. Participants attend as part of a state or local program to remand drivers with excessive moving violations to an alternative educational sentence. Participants may also attend the course voluntarily to receive an insurance discount, as an employment requirement or just to become better drivers. The program draws participants from approximately 60% offender market and 40% from the corporate arena.

NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY INSTITUTE (NTSI)
ALCOHOL, DRUG, & TRAFFIC SEMINAR 

(TRAFFIC LAW AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COURSE, 4 HOURS)

GOAL: Introduce new drivers to the dangers of driving while impaired and familiarize the participants with defensive driving techniques and traffic laws.

CONSUMER BASE:
The Alcohol, Drug & Traffic Seminar is NTSI’s Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Course. It was created to introduce new drivers to the impact alcohol and other drugs have on an individual’s driving behavior and skills, to introduce defensive driving techniques, and to impart insight on traffic laws. Successful completion of a traffic law and substance abuse course is required by Florida state law for all first time drivers wishing to obtain a learner’s or driver’s license.

TRAFFIC SURVIVAL WORKSHOP LEVEL I
BASIC DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSE: 4, 6, 8 HOURS
(Florida Traffic Collision Avoidance Course)

CONSUMER BASE:
The Traffic Survival Workshop Level I is designed for the individual who is attending the program on a volunteer basis to receive a reduction in violation points, to receive an insurance discount, as an employer requirement, or to satisfy a court order. The program meets the requirements for attendance at a Traffic Collision Avoidance Course as required by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Depending on the state in which the program is presented, the program may be taught in a 4, 6, and 8 hour format.

TRAFFIC SURVIVAL WORKSHOP LEVEL II
(ADVANCED DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSE: 8, 12 HOURS)

GOAL: Assist participants in recognizing how their current attitudes and temperament may be the cause of their negative driving behavior and help them learn new ways to become better and safer drivers.

CONSUMER BASE:
The Traffic Survival Workshop Level II is designed for the person who has had their driver’s license suspended by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles or has been court ordered. Certain courts require a violator to attend a defensive driving program for serious/habitual offenders.  The NTSI Level II courses normally meet this mandate.
